This was our second time renting a yacht from Wolter, and we were thrilled again. A warm welcome and excellent service! We had a wonderful week. The Pieton is a fantastic boat and took us to many beautiful places; we truly enjoyed it!
We had the Pieton from August 4th to 11th. It was very well maintained. It was clear that Wolter and his team attach great importance to its technical and visual condition. The handover and return were on time and very quick. The 4HP inflatable boat we booked launched very easily thanks to the electric crane/davit. Many thanks to Wolter and his team for a fantastic week!

Our yacht charter in a nutshell
At Jachtwerf Oost you can rent a boat suitable for small and large boating holidays. This means that you can expect the following with our boat rental:
- You are the captain. Our yachts are equipped with a bow and stern thruster, making maneuvering and mooring a piece of cake. Depth and speed gauges ensure that you are always in control on the water.
- Enjoy in any weather condition. Does the sun sting your eyes too much? With the rear tent you can sit in the shade - also nice in the shady evening sun. Thanks to the heating on board, you will always be comfortably warm indoors.
- Spick and span. Our team ensures that our boats are all clean and technically in order and ready for you. We do all this at the marina at our own workshop.
- Suitable for any group. There are plenty of seats, sanitary facilities and comfortable hunting cabins on board our luxury boats. Even if you sail with a larger group, you will have plenty of privacy!

Jachtwerf Oost is located in Akkrum, a picturesque village situated between Sneek, Heerenveen, Drachten and Leeuwarden. From our marina, you can truly head in any direction. Explore the Frisian Lakes, set course for one of the many historic villages and towns, or moor at a marina for a nice bite to eat and a drink.
That’s not all: there is also plenty of natural beauty to discover. From the vast meadows the province is known for, to lush forests and wetlands. Best of all: you can go anywhere with your boat. Feel free to ask us about the most beautiful sailing routes or places before you depart.

Can I rent a boat in Friesland without a boating license?
Yes, you can rent a boat in Friesland without a boating license. Whether you need a license depends on the speed and size of the vessel. A license is required for vessels that travel faster than twenty kilometers per hour or are longer than fifteen meters.
The boats from Jachtwerf Oost fall below this limit. This means that you can sail on all inland waterways of Friesland and the rest of the Netherlands without any problems.

Do I need sailing experience to rent one of your yachts?
Don't let a lack of sailing experience stop you: you can still rent a yacht from us.
However, it is important that you have some experience before setting sail with one of our boats. Therefore, you can take a sailing training course through us, covering the various aspects of sailing a cruiser. This includes mooring, maneuvering on the water, and the boating rules you must adhere to. Various training sessions are available: you can choose 2 or 3 hours.

What is the minimum rental period?
You can rent our boats starting from a weekend. A weekend runs from Friday through Monday morning. Additionally, you can rent our boats for a midweek, a week, or longer. At Jachtwerf Oost, we work with fixed departure and arrival days.

When can I make use of your boat rental services?
The boating season runs from April 1st to October 31st. You can rent a boat from us during that period.
Outside the boating season, you can come to us for repairs and renovations of your boat, as well as the purchase and sale of vessels.

Can my dog come along on a boating holiday?
Pets are allowed on all our boats. This means your dog is certainly welcome to join you on your boating holiday.
You pay an additional fee per pet on top of the rental price. Additionally, you can rent a dog gangway: this ensures your dog can safely walk onto the ship!

Where can I moor my rented boat?
Mooring your boat is well organized in Friesland. You will find so-called Marrekrite mooring places throughout the province. You can recognize these by the orange and white emblem featuring a sailboat. You can moor at these locations for up to three days free of charge.
Additionally, you can moor at marinas, in one of the cities or villages, or at other designated spots. These often have sanitary facilities, electricity, and other amenities. However, you will often have to pay a fee for this. Please contact the marina in question where you wish to moor for more information.

You can rent the following with our boats:
