Specialized in custom work. Every ship is built differently. We know every boat inside and out: for example, if you want a special lacquer on your sloop or if your yacht's deck needs a suitable refresh, we are happy to discuss the right way to make it look its best.

How much does it cost to have a boat painted?
It is difficult to say in advance. Much of our work is custom work. Additionally, it depends on the job you have in mind, the size of your boat, the surface, and other factors.

What is the best time to have a yacht painted?
We recommend having this done outside the boating season: between November and March.

How often does my boat need to be repainted?
Good question. The paintwork done by the professionals at Jachtwerf Oost lasts for years – depending on factors such as the weather, location, and the frequency of use. In many cases, our paint systems last five to ten years.
If you see blisters on the paint layer or notice that the shine has worn off, we recommend replacing the paint. In addition to being a decorative element, it also serves as protection for the boat. A nice coat of paint is therefore an important element for the longevity of your boat.
We do recommend replacing antifouling (which serves as protection for the bottom of the ship) every boating season (year). You can do this yourself or outsource it to us.

What is the difference between paint and coating?
In the case of a ship, an optimal paint system often consists of multiple layers of paint and coating.
Although paint has a protective effect, it is primarily intended to enhance the boat's appearance. Coatings also have another function: they protect the ship against, for example, wear and tear, salt water, or UV radiation. For this reason, antifouling is often applied below the waterline of a boat. This prevents the growth of algae or seaweed, for instance, and ensures that the boat sails more smoothly.
