This was our second time renting a yacht from Wolter, and we were thrilled again. A warm welcome and excellent service! We had a wonderful week. The Pieton is a fantastic boat and took us to many beautiful places; we truly enjoyed it!
We had the Pieton from August 4th to 11th. It was very well maintained. It was clear that Wolter and his team attach great importance to its technical and visual condition. The handover and return were on time and very quick. The 4HP inflatable boat we booked launched very easily thanks to the electric crane/davit. Many thanks to Wolter and his team for a fantastic week!

What you can expect from our motorboats
You have probably read it before: a motor yacht is just like a holiday home on the water. This is no exaggeration: a ship is more spacious than you think and has all the facilities that make a holiday home so attractive. But this time: you can take them along with you, everywhere you sail.
Expect the following:
- A ship in tip-top condition. Our team ensures that each of our boats is clean and technically sound, ready for you. We do this in-house and in our own workshop.
- A smooth boating experience. Our motor yachts are equipped with speed and depth gauges, as well as bow and stern thrusters. This makes docking, mooring, and maneuvering on the Frisian Lakes quickly second nature.
- Fully equipped for your convenience. From sanitary facilities to comfortable beds, and from a kitchen for cooking to a spacious saloon where you can enjoy delicious meals and lounge. Each of our luxury motorboats has its own unique facilities.
- Suitable for any group. Whether you want to rent a yacht in Friesland for 8 or 10 people, or just the two of you: there is a cruiser for every family, couple, or group. In addition to multiple sleeping cabins, expect various sanitary facilities and showers.
Plenty to experience on the Frisian waters
From our centrally located harbor in Akkrum, you can head in any direction. There are various sailing routes that lead you past beautiful spots and sights, but also charming villages and towns.
Maybe you’ll find yourself at Starteiland (Starting Island) in Lake Sneekermeer or you and your kids taste the Old Dutch in Kameleondorp Terherne. Maybe you cross the provincial border towards the beautiful sailing areas in the provinces of Drenthe, Groningen, or Overijssel. For the rugged sailors among us, sailing on the Wadden Sea to the Wadden Islands is also an option. You determine the course!
Waking up to the smell of fresh bread rolls in the harbor or with a view of the cows in the meadow; it is all possible during a holiday on the water. Along the way, there is much to see and do, also for children. From cozy harbors with a playground to an interesting museum, terraces and ice cream parlors along the route, and numerous (aquatic) animals to spot with binoculars. Not a moment of boredom during your boating holiday.

Can I rent a motorboat from you without a boating license?
All our motorboats can be rented without a boating license. A boating license is required if a boat is longer than 15 meters or can go faster than 20 kilometers per hour. None of our boats meet these requirements.
Before departure, you will receive a brief explanation from us on the motorboat you are renting so that you know how the boat works. We can then share various boating tips with you so that you can go boating well-prepared and with peace of mind.

What extras do you offer with your boats?
If you go boating with one of our motorboats, you can also choose to rent an inflatable boat with a motor. This is not only great fun for children on board, but also for yourself, for example, to run a quick errand in a harbor while you are at anchor.
In addition to a dinghy, you can choose other extras such as booking bedding, towels, and/or a kitchen package. That saves packing and laundry upon your return. You can also book life jackets and other safety equipment.

Can I rent a motor yacht without boating experience?
You can rent a motor yacht from us without boating experience.
However, it is important that you have some experience before stepping on board. Therefore, we offer boating training courses covering various aspects of motor yachting, such as maneuvering, mooring, and boating rules. You can choose a 2, 3, or 8-hour training course.

What are the rental periods?
You can rent a motorboat from us for a weekend (Friday to Monday), a midweek or a week. By arrangement, you can also go out on the water for a longer period with one of our boats.

Can I bring my dog along?
Of course! Your dog is more than welcome when you rent one of our motorboats! Pets are allowed on any of Jachtwerf Oost's motor yachts.

Can I moor my boat for free in Friesland?
Throughout Friesland, you will find nearly three hundred Marrekrite mooring spots. You can moor here for free for a period of up to three days, thanks to the Marrekrite pennant found near our boats. You can recognize these spots by the orange and white Marrekrite logo featuring a sailboat.
If, for example, you wish to moor in a marina, there may be associated costs. Please check the website of the marina in question for details.
